"Defending the European tomato is defending Europe." With these words, the manifesto presented today in Berlin by European tomato producers kicks off, within the framework of Fruit Logistica 2026, as the conclusion of a joint declaration aimed at demanding a fair, coherent, and aligned commercial policy from the European Union with the values of the community project. The initiative, under the title We ‘Tomato’ Europe, Don’t Betray EU Tomato, is driven by Spanish tomato producers through FEPEX, with the support of horticultural organizations from France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Poland. Ignacio Antequera, director of FEPEX, has stated that "today we take a decisive step.
