The wheat yield from Bulgaria broke a record – where is our grain going?

The subject of this analysis is some reports and official statistics that dictate the current situation in the grain trade. The quite favorable weather in most of Bulgaria in the final stages of the development of winter crops this season, followed by hot and dry conditions for harvesting, led to higher production of wheat and barley than initially expected, but the quality of the grain is not as good as the excellent harvest from last year, indicates a special report by Farm Tender dedicated to our country. The Ministry of Agriculture of Bulgaria recently announced that the harvest has officially ended, with wheat production at 7.3 million tons. This represents an 8.5% increase in production compared to 2024, against the backdrop of a 6.2% increase in harvested areas to 1.26 million hectares, which is combined with a 2.3% increase in average yield to 5.8 tons per hectare.
