Viña Maquis, part of the Hurtado Group, had an outstanding performance in the latest edition of The Wine Advocate, the most influential wine publication in the world, created for discerning consumers by American Robert M. Parker in 1978, and recognized for establishing the 100-point system for wine evaluation. Maquis Viola 2021 and Maquis Franco 2021 reached 96+ and 96 points respectively, consolidating both wines as the highest-scoring wines in the Colchagua Valley. This is the fifth time Viola has been positioned as the best-rated Carménère in the world, surpassing notable exponents from Italy and Chile, while Franco was again chosen as the Best Cabernet Franc in the country, a position it has maintained in the vast majority of harvests since 2010.
