China's tea exports in the first 7 months of 2021 reached 194.16 thousand tons, down 5.5% in volume but up 0.05% in value. Vietnam's tea exports in August 2021 reached 10.3 thousand tons, down 22.2% in volume and 20.2% in value compared to August 2020. The future of tea export will depend on disease control and vaccination progress against Covid-19.

China's main export category is green tea, followed by black, oolong, flavor, and Pu'er tea. Vietnam's tea exports to major markets decreased sharply, but there was strong growth in exports to Iraq, the United States, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Germany. Taiwan's tea imports in the first 7 months of 2021 reached 19.1 thousand tons.
