The Piura Regional Directorate of Agriculture (DRAP) and the Adventist Agency for Development and Assistance Resources (ADRA – Peru) are collaborating to cultivate 50 hectares of Utrillo peas across five towns, benefiting 104 family farmers. The project, scheduled to be implemented through the Hortus seed company, was planned considering the availability of land and water resources, with the farmers committing to immediate sowing and crop management. A training program has also been implemented to teach the technical management of the crop, from planting to marketing. The Utrillo pea variety has a cultivation period of 130 days and is expected to yield 7,000 kilos per hectare.
