The Netherlands has seen an increase in farms infected with Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV), now totaling 50 across 67 cultivation sites and one seed production facility. Seventeen sites have been cleared since the outbreak began in mid-2019, but 49 continue to face supervision due to the virus's persistent spread. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) is implementing stricter controls and considering changing the virus's quarantine status to a Regulated Non-Quarantine Pests (RNQP) status for more research opportunities.
