This week has seen a drastic decrease in the supply of tomatoes due to the conclusion of harvests in Araguari (MG) and Sumaré (SP), the main winter producers, and slower fruit maturation caused by overcast weather. As a result, prices have surged in all central markets, with significant increases observed at Ceagesp (SP), Campinas (SP), Belo Horizonte (MG), and Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Despite the rise in prices, the more affordable rate in Rio de Janeiro is attributed to a larger supply within the state. It is anticipated that the offer will increase in December, following the pick-up pace of the summer harvest.
