Turkey is poised to set a new record in its flour exportation, aiming to surpass four million tons this year, an increase of 340 thousand tons from the previous year, as reported by Daily Sabah citing the International Association of Operating Flour Millers (IAOM). This growth is highlighted by a significant 60 percent increase in February exports and a 22 percent rise in January compared to the same months last year. The Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa are the primary recipients of Turkey's flour exports, underscoring the country's pivotal role in mitigating food shortages in these regions. Last year's flour exports brought in 48.63 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to about one and a half billion US dollars, showcasing the economic impact of this sector.
