In 2020, the UK exported 9,300 tonnes of dairy products, primarily cheese, to the US, valued at £52 million, making the US the second most important export market for UK dairy products outside of the EU. Despite a drop in exports in 2020 due to tariffs from the Airbus dispute and a weak US dollar reducing import demand, the value of cheese exports contributed the most to the value of overall exports. The UK remains a net exporter of dairy products to the US, while import volumes from the US to the UK increased but remain small.
