Ukrainian importers have fully utilized the duty-free import quotas of pork from the European Union for the first eight months of 2021, which is earlier than previous years. They have imported 20,000 tons of chilled and frozen pork from EU countries. Once these quotas are exhausted, the cost of European chilled pork will increase by 12%, and frozen pork by 10%. Ukraine also has similar agreements with Canada and the UK for duty-free pork supplies. However, only 9% of the expected pork imports from Canada and no purchases have been made from the UK yet.
