In 2020, Ukraine saw a decrease in chocolate exports by 9.7%, totaling 57.7 thousand tons and valued at $158.4 million, with the main buyers being Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Romania. Despite the decrease in physical terms, imports of cocoa products increased by 5.7% in monetary terms. Additionally, Ukraine experienced a significant increase in coffee and its substitutes imports, with a 8.4% increase in physical terms and a 15.4% increase in monetary terms, primarily imported from Poland, Italy, and Germany.
