In 2023, Ukraine saw a significant increase in rapeseed seed harvest, with a 26% rise to 4.2 million tons compared to the previous season. The country is also experiencing a record high in rapeseed exports, with over 3.58 million tons already shipped out in the first ten months of the 2023/24 marketing year, a 5% increase from the previous year. Along with the seeds, 406.1 thousand tons of rapeseed oil and 351.9 thousand tons of rapeseed meal have also been exported. With no major damage to crops from spring frosts and predictions of over 4 million tons of rapeseed to be harvested this year, it is anticipated that rapeseed will remain Ukraine's most profitable crop, particularly due to an expected deficit in Europe that is likely to be met with imports from Ukraine and Australia.
