The Ukrainian oil and fat industry has seen a 14% decrease in sunflower oil exports in the first four months of the 2022/23 marketing year due to various challenges such as low sunflower harvest and power outages. However, the shipment of refined oil has seen a 2.6% increase and is stabilizing despite some slowdown. The share of refined oil exports in Ukraine's total exports remains the second highest at 10.6%. The European Union has strengthened its position as a key importer, accounting for 53% of exports in the current season, with Turkey, Malaysia, and Jordan being the top importers. The refining segment for the 2022/23 marketing year remains optimistic, with the potential to increase the share of refined oil exports to 12% if monthly shipments remain above 40 thousand tons.
