Ukraine has passed a law, inspired by European Union standards, regulating grape cultivation, oenology, and the protection of wine geographical indications. The law aims to create a unified state register of vineyards and winemakers to enhance administrative efficiency and support the sector. The law also prohibits the dilution of Ukrainian wines with imported products and addresses the challenges to vine cultivation caused by the Russian war, which has reduced the vineyard area by 5,200 hectares.
