Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center: Damage to winter crops reaches 12%, to stone fruit crops – up to 51%

The unsatisfactory condition of winter crops, which will require resown or undersown, has been recorded on 12% of the areas in Ukraine, while among fruit plantations, stone fruit crops have suffered the most losses, with apricot flower bud death in certain regions reaching 51%, reported Ukrhydrometcenter on its website. According to the report, as of March 31, winter crops have resumed vegetation throughout the country, and early spring sowings have already shown signs of seed germination and seedling formation. "According to the results of spring surveys of winter crop sowings conducted by meteorological stations, it has been determined that most areas are in good and excellent condition. The total area of winter crops in unsatisfactory condition (which will require resown or undersown) may be around 12% of the sown area," the report states.
