REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARAWANG — PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has started the construction of the first NPK Nitrate plant in Indonesia with a capacity of around 100 thousand tons per year in the Kujang Cikampek Industrial Area, Karawang Regency, West Java. "This is an important milestone, because what we are building will become a new historical foundation for the development of the fertilizer industry and also agriculture as a whole," said President Director of Pupuk Indonesia Rahmad Pribadi during the groundbreaking ceremony of the NPK Nitrate plant in Karawang, Tuesday (23/12/2025). He said that until now, the national demand for NPK Nitrate has been met through imports with a volume reaching around 450 thousand tons per year.
