UNESCO world experts have recommended the 'Quarry and Truffle Hunt' for the World Heritage Site list, highlighting the importance of the truffle industry, estimated to generate over half a billion euros, in areas with a unique relationship with nature. The price of the white truffle, the most valuable, has surged to 450 euros per hecto due to extended drought and recent heavy rains, affecting truffle growth. The final decision on this application is expected to be made between December 13 and 18, and involves around 200,000 official collectors in Italy.
