Uruguay, the only country with full cattle traceability, is seeking technological advancements to maintain its status. Officials, including Fratti and leaders from ANII, INAC, and INIA, have announced an international call for innovative projects to enhance the cattle traceability system. The initiative aims to fund projects that develop technological solutions for cattle identification, monitoring, and management using georeferencing and movement detection devices. This effort is vital for sustaining Uruguay's position in the global meat market. The call is open to Uruguayan residents, with funding available for up to two projects, each with a budget of 5,000,000 pesos, to be completed within a year and validated at an INIA experimental station. The submission period is from May 12 to July 1.
