As of September 22, sorghum in the United States' six key states has seen good development, with a color change rate of 92% and a maturity rate of 60%, both exceeding the five-year averages. The harvest progress of 29% is also ahead of last year and the average. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has increased its forecast for sorghum production in the 2024/25 season to 302 million bushels, up from 279 million bushels in August, despite being slightly lower than the previous year's production. The adjusted sorghum yield is now 57.3 bushels per acre, a rise from the previous forecast and last year's figure.
