In 2021, Uzbekistan has seen a significant increase in the export of fresh white cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower to Belarus, with record exports reaching 2.7 thousand tons of white cabbage and 57 tons of broccoli and cauliflower in the first 8 months. The warmer climate allows Uzbekistan to start exporting young cabbage as early as March, providing a supply to Belarus three months earlier than locally produced cabbage. Additionally, there has been a growth in the exports of table beets and onions, with onion exports increasing by 5% and beet exports increasing by 74%. However, the export of greenhouse tomatoes from Uzbekistan to Belarus has decreased by 31%, as Belarus has increased its production and export of tomatoes, reducing its need for imports.
