Vegetable growers in the Republic of Dagestan produced over 1.5 million tons of vegetables.

According to the operational information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, vegetables in the region were harvested from an area of 39.7 thousand hectares this year. With a yield of 396.2 centners per hectare, the gross harvest amounted to 1,572.9 thousand tons. This is 3.0% more than in the same period last year. More than half of the vegetables were cabbage. Dagestan produces a quarter of the total Russian cabbage volume. The gross potato harvest in the republic amounted to 368.5 thousand tons. This is 0.8% more than last year. The area occupied by potatoes was 18.4 thousand hectares, with an average yield of 200.2 centners per hectare.
