In July 2022, Vietnam exported 192,470 tons of cassava and cassava products, earning USD 87.63 million, primarily to China. The average export price increased by 3.4% compared to June 2022 and 9.2% compared to July 2021. From January to July 2022, Vietnam's cassava and cassava product exports volume and value increased by 9.1% and 23% respectively compared to the same period in 2021, with China being the main market. Despite this, Vietnam also imports a significant amount of cassava and cassava products from Cambodia. Meanwhile, China's cassava import turnover reached USD 1.34 billion in the first half of 2022, with Thailand being the largest supplier and Vietnam the second largest. Additionally, China imported 2.35 million tons of tapioca starch, mainly from Thailand and Vietnam, with Vietnam's market share increasing significantly compared to the same period in 2021.
