Vietnam turns aquatic processing by-products into billions of dollars

Efficient Utilization of By-products from Aquatic Product Processing In Ho Chi Minh City, many enterprises are effectively utilizing by-products from aquatic product processing. General Manager Luong Thanh Loc of Fu Lu Co., Ltd. stated, "We purchase about 60 tons of aquatic processing waste from fishing boats and factories every day, producing 4,000 to 5,000 tons of fish meal annually, with a turnover of 72 billion to 90 billion Vietnamese dong. If we receive financial and technical support, the protein content of fish meal can be increased to 64%, and we can reduce imports by 140,000 tons annually." At Si Hai Co., Ltd. (Fu Sheng Fang), cleaned and dried croaker fish bones are exported to Japan, selling for 10 USD per kilogram, with an annual income of 1,000 billion to 1,200 billion Vietnamese dong.
