Vietnamese agricultural products are facing competition in the Chinese market, primarily from Thailand, due to high production costs, lack of mechanization, inconsistent quality, and unstable branding. However, Vietnam's ability to produce certain fruits year-round provides a competitive edge. The Chanthaburi Chamber of Commerce in Thailand is seeking cooperation with Vietnamese farmers to promote their products. The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association aims to reach an export turnover of $6.5 billion to $7 billion by 2024, focusing on the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is negotiating with major markets like China, New Zealand, the US, and Japan to expand the market for various fruits and vegetables, and is organizing conferences and seminars to connect buyers and manufacturers directly.
