Kazakh milk processors are facing challenges due to new regulations and lack of government support for small farms. After January 1, 2025, new rules will require machine milking and immediate chilling of raw milk, which small farms cannot provide. As a result, milk processing enterprises will lack sufficient supplies of raw milk and may have to reduce operations or shut down completely, leading to a loss of income for many villagers. To address this issue, Senator Zakirzhan Kuziev suggests stimulating service-consumer cooperation, providing loans to villagers, creating service and procurement centers, and reforming the agricultural subsidy system.
