Farmers in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, are experiencing joy as they harvest walnuts, expecting a yield of approximately 19 thousand tons this year. The walnuts, branded as 'Maraş-18', are exported to America and Europe from the regions of Çağlayancerit and Bertiz, with the production potential increasing in Ilıca and Avcılar. A festival was held in the walnut gardens, showcasing the colorful harvest, and the high altitude of the region is credited for the walnuts' quality. Oğuzhan Özkayım, a producer, mentioned that the walnuts are sent to various parts of the country and abroad, including Germany, America, and the Arabian Peninsula. Abdurrahman Kayaalp, the headman of Avcılar Neighborhood, stated that they harvested in an area of 100 acres and that the region is known for growing the best Maraş-18 walnuts due to its high altitude.
