The USDA GAIN report forecasts a rise in the domestic wholesale price of beef and carabeef in India for 2024, although it will still be cheaper than pork, mutton, and fish. This trend is attributed to inflation, seasonality, and a surge in the cost of production, which includes labour, fuel, and especially feed and fodder. The price of carabeef exports is also expected to increase due to the rising cost of production and freight.
