Yara, JDE Peet's, and Ofi signed an agreement during the International Coffee Week in Belo Horizonte to promote sustainable practices and the decarbonization of coffee in Brazil. The project will be implemented in over 20 farms in southern Bahia and Espírito Santo, lasting for two harvests, between 2025 and 2027. The initiative foresees the use of low-emission fertilizers, the adoption of sustainable agronomic practices, and the training of producers, with an expected yield of up to 7.6 bags per hectare and a reduction of about 40% in the carbon footprint of the beans compared to traditional systems.
