French strawberries actually satisfy consumers more since the quality is guaranteed, but as the price of French strawberries has tripled compared to Spanish strawberries, France had to rely on Spain even though imports have fallen in the past year. At very favorable prices, Spanish strawberries have dominated the industrial market. Spanish strawberries are cheaper, but they don't taste the same as French strawberries. So the difference between price and quality actually creates fierce competition between both countries. The price of domestic strawberries in the French market increased by an average of +21.02% last year, while imports from Spain increased by +74.81%. The price of imported strawberries looks more volatile when compared to the original product from France.
