Philippine pineapple exports increase, nearly half of them are exported to China

Philippine pineapple exports increased by 5% in 2023, mainly due to increased exports of Philippine pineapples to China in line with the upward trend in global trade. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) stated in a report that the world's second largest pineapple Supplier the Philippines exported 611,873 tons of pineapples last year, up from 582,537 tons the previous year. The FAO report showed: "Industry sources said Philippine pineapple exports to China benefited from increased demand for high-quality pineapples in the Chinese market." MD2 is the Philippines. The main pineapple variety grown has a long shelf life, can be matured throughout the year and is cost-effective, and is very popular in the market. From January to July 2023, the Philippines’ pineapple exports to China increased significantly by 22%. China is the largest producer of Philippine pineapples.
