The high demand of cucumber during the month of Ramadhan has increased the price across Indonesia. Cucumber is now sold at IDR 7000/Kg, up from its previous price in April 2020 at IDR 5000/Kg. One contributing factor for this price increase is the level of demand of cucumber by the local consumers that has reached its highest point so far in 2020. As a reference, a number of sellers in West Java province mentioned that they could sell up to 100 Kg of cucumber daily during Ramdhan, which is more than double of what they could usually sell outside of Ramadhan, because cucumber is among the most sought-after commodity during Ramadhan, as people are using it as an ingredient to make a traditional drink to be consumed during the breakfasting.
