Even though local prices of rice, edible oil, and seasonable fruits have been at lower prices during this pandemic period, there is one agro commodity, 'peanut', which has a different story. Similar to 2019, Myanmar peanut is in high demand by the Chinese buyers and the current local price is MMK 3200 (per viss) while last week it was MMK 2800. Exporters think the price can go up to MMK 4000 in June when the season of peanut ends.
