Lebanon's olive oil production varies from year to year. In high production years, the productivity is between 3-3,5 tons per hectare and in low years is between 1.3 to 1.5 tons per hectare. Lebanese olive oil producers commit to larger fields of olive tree cultivation during lower production years based on forecasts they receive from their customers. Lebanon exports its olive oil mostly in the Middle East due to logistics advantages in the region.
