The observation shows that in 8 months of 2020, the figure for Vietnamese imported vegetable consumption witnessed a significant fall by 36% than that of the same period of 2019 spending only USD 810 million. In particular, the US, China, and Australia are the top countries supplying vegetables for Vietnam with 16.4%, 35.7%, and 3.3% of the decline in exporting value, respectively. This is because the pandemic has created an impact on consumer behavior shifting to consuming more domestic vegetables. Moreover, the supply of vegetables in Vietnam is enough to fulfill the domestic demand.
