Banana imports expected to increase in Pakistan in 2021

The demand for imported bananas is expected to increase this year. Poor harvest and low-quality local banana yield which has presented the market players with an opportunity to import bananas into the local market and sell at higher profit margins. Previously, Pakistan used to import bananas from India but since the trade ties are now cut off between the two countries, the Philippines has become the major banana sourcing origin for Pakistani buyers.
