An agreement to promote trade between Tanzania and China was reached during the visit of the Tanzanian President to China in November 2022. The agreement to allow Tanzanian honey to enter the Chinese market will be signed soon, thus opening opportunities for honey traders. Tanzania aims to be the leading honey producer in Africa by increasing its production to 60,000MT by 2025. Tanzania is currently the second largest honey producer in Africa after Ethiopia. By signing the agreement, Tanzanian honey production is set to increase due to anticipated increased market demand from China.
