In 2024, global Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus albacares) fishing has been below standards, expected to drive up prices. In Spain, the yellowfin tuna prices stood at USD 2,586/ton (EUR 2,400/ton) during W10, potentially increasing to USD USD 2,801 (EUR 2,600/ton soon. The yellowfin tuna catch is limited in the Pacific Ocean, except in Papua, where it has notably declined. Meanwhile, the price in Europe ranges from USD 2,532 to USD 2,586/ton (EUR 2,350 to EUR 2,400/ton). In the Indian Ocean, particularly in the Mozambique Channel, prices hover around USD 2,262 to USD 2,316/ton (EUR 2,100 to 2,150/ton). There's a three-month fishing prohibition in the Atlantic Ocean, and vessels typically capture between 5 and 20 tons of Yellowfin Tuna.
