The pelagic fishing season began in W31, three weeks earlier than the previous year, marking a 30% advancement from last year's schedule. So far, 2,351 metric tons (mt) of mackerel have been reported, indicating a favorable start to the season. The average size of the fish ranges between 420 and 470 grams (g), suggesting a healthy stock. August 4 was the most productive day, with 1,157 mt captured, accounting for 49% of the total reported. All catches have occurred exclusively within Norwegian waters, with no fishing reports in other regions.
