On August 31st, 2022, the Food Ministry of India announced that the concessional custom duty on edible oil import was extended until March 2023, to boost domestic supply and keep retail prices stable. India imports more than 60% of edible oil and has imported a record of edible oil worth USD 14.1B (INR 1.17T) in 2020-2022.
