On Sep-23, the Office of Agricultural Affairs, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou, China, reported an import quantity and value decrease of Thai longans. From Jan-23 to Sep-23, approximately 179.75 thousand tons were imported, reflecting a 19.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. The imported value amounted to about USD 243.2 million, indicating a 26.29% decline from 2022. This decrease is due to the impact of the El Niño and La Niña phenomena on Thai longan crops in both Northern and Eastern Thailand for the year 2023.
