The increased worldwide demand for frozen fish has generated a shortage of frozen tilapia in Costa Rica, causing a delay of 3 months in order to fulfill pending orders, according to the data provided from one of the main suppliers of the industry. This second quarter has closed with a 30% increase of new orders compared to 2021. Delays are expected for the upcoming months. Customers of new orders must be patient as suppliers are indicating that there is a 4-5 month waiting list in order to fulfill them.
