India had a bumper crop of ginger in 2021, as more sowing was done due to the global demand in 2020. Due to ginger being used in home remedies and natural ingredients to boost health in certain cultures and cuisines, which was a rising focus during Covid-19, there was significant demand in 2020. Due to increased profitability, farmers focused on sowing more ginger. The exports to the UAE, USA, and Europe have increased significantly with excessive capacity.
