Indonesia cinnamon export to US continues facing challenges

Competition for space, all-time-high freight charges, and stubborn prices at origins continue to limit the availability of Indonesia cinnamon/cassia in the US market in Q4 2021. While the US market expects a steady recovery, only a few exporters are delivering equal/more quantity than 2020 due to the pressure of high freight rates reaching USD 20,000 per 40FCL dry. Alternative origins-Vietnam and China - are also facing the same logistical challenges.
