Ireland voluntarily suspended beef exports to China in May 2020 after an atypical Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy(BSE) case.
Efforts are ongoing to regain market access at present. Access to China is all the more important given that Irish beef exports decreased by 2% in 2020.
