According to the estimations made by the federal Mexican agency SADER (Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development), beef and pork production are expected to grow in 2021, even in the middle of the pandemic. Although the demand from local restaurants, hotels, and the foodservice industry has declined, foreign markets still seek and are eager to buy Mexican meats. Therefore, Mexican farmers are focused on increasing production. This could lower the prices of meat in foreign markets, but it also depends on how much of Mexico's production is consumed in the domestic market and how much is destined for exports.
