Spain's beef is currently traded at dangerously low prices as a result of the changes in consumer habits as well as the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the hospitality sector. Producers are now barely covering costs as a crisis looms over the whole sector.

Many meat producer associations are assisting their members by helping them negotiate fair prices with buyers, but without an integral government strategy, the whole industry remains vulnerable.
