Since the end of 2020, when the Myanmar government open the export permit of rice and broken rice, there are many buyers from China and the Phillippines contacting the government agency and local suppliers to purchase rice. As the production cannot meet the high demand in the global market, the local rice price increases a lot. The recent FOB price of 100% broken rice is USD 382 per MT, while it was only USD 334 per MT in 2019.
