Possible threat of fungus R4T to Ecuador's banana industry

Ecuador remains in an "alarm state" due to a possible spread of Fusarium Race 4- R4T (a mortal and dangerous fungus for bananas) to Peru. The high spreadability of this fungus and the close distances to Peruvian northern banana plantations area threaten the Ecuadorian banana industry.
