The Chinese New Year public holiday will be observed in China from January 21-27, 2023. Many employees at the garlic packinghouse anticipate returning to their hometowns several days before the CNY to prepare for the new year. As labor costs doubled in W1, the price of garlic began to rise. Since the previous weekend, many suppliers have stopped updating quotations, and prices are rising in the packhouses. The processing schedule is already jam-packed for the CNY holiday.
