Cherry tomatoes in the Tokyo market are in a relatively downward trend in W2 and W3. The Tokyo market had a rich supply of cherry tomatoes in W2 because of fine weather from the end of December 2022, which was +1.35% YoY. However, the demand from retailers did not keep up with such supply, and the price did not rise well. In W2, the selling price of cherry tomatoes in the Tokyo market was around USD 4.13/kg which was lower by 6% than last year. W3 still started with a bigger supply, +5% YoY, and the price was USD 4.23/kg which is -3% YoY. Until the beginning of spring crops in March, the supply of cherry tomatoes will soon be limited. The market expects their price trend slowly shifts upward.
